 TCS launches AI, IoT and 5G Innovation Hub at Hyderabad, India

TCS in collaboration with Qualcomm has announced today the launch of Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India.

With 5G technology, users can experience low latency while dealing with cloud computing, highly responsive multiplayer gaming, immersive 360-degree video, and instant apps, etc.

The internet of things (IoT) gathering data from machine sensors that report on position, temperature, air quality, acceleration, pressure, tracking vehicles at any scale. The 5G speed will make such tracking almost instantaneous. Such a tremendous amount of data can be gathered and directed at machine learning and AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithms delivering crucial insights to make intelligent decisions.

AI, IoT, and 5G Innovation Hub

The announcement notes that both companies will leverage AI, IoT, and 5G technologies and help global enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation journeys.

The new hub will leverage TCS' and Qualcomm Technologies’ expertise in digital technologies, 5G, edge AI and edge devices to build solutions. The innovation hub will also bring forward and develop use cases in automotive, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and utilities segments.

By 2020, 5G network services are expected to be launched in some of the major cities across the globe. South Korea, the US, the UK, Finland, and Switzerland have already started 5G services, notes Garner report.

In February 2019, TCS through its venture arm Digitate introduced an upgrade to its artificial intelligence / cognitive automation product, ignio Cheetah. In the same month, Qualcomm also announced its advanced multimode 5G modem for global 5G rollout and supports all major frequency bands.

In June 2019, TCS and SAP partnered to launch SAP Leonardo powered Intelligent Field Inventory Management (iFIM) solution.

This month, Ericson partnered with the Chinese smartphone market Oppo to establish a joint lab in Shenzhen, China, to focus on the 5G innovation.
