AI chatbot startup LimeChat secured $750K in seed funding round

LimeChat, a Gurgaon headquartered conversational Artificial Intelligence startup, has announced that it has secured $750,000 (around INR 5.65 crore) in a seed funding round, various media-houses report.

LimeChat is founded by Nikhil Gupta and Aniket Bajpai in the year 2020. It enables the direct-to-consumer brands to drive online sales conversions across Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and Whatsapp. The company, as of now, works with more than 20 D2C brands across the wellness, health, fashion, and beauty verticals.

LimeChat co-founder Nikhil Gupta said, "When we started, the word 'chatbot' was an overused term, and the value being delivered through them was very limited. We wanted to leverage our AI research background to develop cutting-edge conversational intelligence capable of delivering exceptional customer experiences.”

Aniket Bajpai, the co-founder of LimeChat, said "Limiting our focus solely to the e-commerce vertical enabled us to engineer the tailormade contextual interactions which customers desire”.

The round was led by the pi Ventures and Stellaris Partners. Some other participants in the round include Sujeet Kumar, Dilip Khandelwal, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, and Ramakant Sharma. 

The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds for product development and expand its go-to-market operations.
