Honeywell reveals Cloud-powered solution to monitor End-To-End Fire Safety System

Honeywell

Honeywell has now launched its first set of tools under the connected life safety services (CLSS) cloud platform for fire safety systems.

The solutions help the customers remotely access and manage the fire safety systems. The solution leverages the Honeywell Forge platform enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with optimized commissioning and maintenance.

Executive Opinion

Sameer Agrawal, general manager, Global Fire Software and Services, Honeywell, said, "Today's global environment requires the fire and life safety industry to innovate with solutions that enable facility managers and system integrators to monitor their systems and diagnose issues anytime, from anywhere. Many facilities are working to create healthier environments and even limiting occupant density to comply with social distancing. With CLSS, we help system integrators provide their customers with the highest level of safety and service and work more efficiently by giving them insight into the system problem before they even get to the site."

David Maloy, president, Firetron, said, "We're always looking for the most technologically advanced reporting so that we can reduce customer time and effort during audits. For example, our healthcare facility customers are under increasing pressure to provide accurate compliance records per The Joint Commission reporting requirements. With more than 600,000 devices under our management, CLSS provides us with a scalable tool to meet our customer service aspirations."

The real-time view from the cloud solutions allows the technician to troubleshoot a system well before reaching the site. This way, they could remotely determine the issue and reach the control panel with the right tools to service the system.

This will help to minimize disruptions, reducing the time needed to design, install, inspect, commission, and maintain the systems across the facilities.

CLSS tools can also capture testing activity automatically and generate suggested corrections actions and maintenance recommendations based upon the local regulations.

The launch of new tools will be useful at the time of the current industry situation, where the coronavirus pandemic has forced many organizations to operate with reduced maintenance staff and restrict access to their facilities.
