Microsoft acquires CyberX, a Boston based IoT Security Company

Microsoft has acquired CyberX, a Boston based IoT Security Company. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

CyberX is founded by the Omer Schneider in 2013. It offers large enterprises with an IoT security platform to secure their facilities across the globe. According to CrunchBase, the company has secured a total of $47 million in five funding rounds.

The company was backed by Qualcomm Ventures, Glilot Capital Partners, OurCrowd, Inven Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, and Flint Capital.

Microsoft's CyberX Acquisition

According to the deal, CyberX IoT aware behavioral analytics platform integrates with the Azure security to deliver end to end security across the managed and unmanaged IoT devices, notes the announcement. 

With this deal, CyberX founders will join Microsoft, and the platform will continue to be enhanced and supported by CyberX personnel.

The platform will even continue to be available in a hybrid model supporting both the cloud-connected and air-gapped networks.
