AWS launches Amazon Kendra, Machine learning based Search Service

AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has recently revealed a machine learning-powered internal data search service for enterprises.

Known by the name as Amazon Kendra, the solution will now going to help customers index their internal data source, make that data searchable and allow users to get answers to natural language queries, noted the announcement.

The services search across all the data within an organization to offer accurate results instead of a random list of links in response to keyword searches, which makes the services more utilitarian.

The search engine Natural Language Processing understanding is a key differentiator, which Amazon has added.

Executive Opinion

In an announcement, an Amazon executive, said, “Amazon Kendra reinvents enterprise search by allowing end-users to search across multiple silos of data using real questions (not just keywords) and leverages machine learning models under the hood to understand the content of documents and the relationships between them to deliver the precise answers they seek (instead of a random list of links).”

More on Amazon Kendra

Amazon Kendra does not require any Machine Learning expertise and can be set up within the AWS Management console.

Organizations can use the Amazon Kendra to search internal documents spread across the wikis and portals, while research organizations can create a searchable archive of notes and experiments.

Amazon Kendra encrypts data in the form of transit and at rest, and integrates it with the commonly used data repository types such as applications, file systems, intranet, and relational databases to help developers index their company content without writing any code, noted the announcement.

The platform also offers a native cloud and on-premises connectors to popular data sources such as OneDrive, SharePoint, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and others.
