Wipro enables Core Banking Solution at Kaveri Grameena Bank Branches


Wipro has now revealed that it has completed the implementation of the core banking solution (CBS) for the Kaveri Grameena Bank branches, now part of Karnataka Gramin Bank.

Wipro offers 'Core Banking As-a-Service' which manages the Core Banking applications and underlying infrastructure. From the announcement, it is not yet clear if the core banking solution provided is an 'as-a-service' model.

The Kaveri Grameena Bank was merged with Pragathi Krishna Gramin bank to form Karnataka Gramin Bank. Wipro was previously engaged in digital transformation of 688 branches of Pragathi Krishna Gramin Bank.

Post-merger of these banks, Wipro now migrated remaining 479 branches from Kaveri Grameena Bank to core banking solution.

The core banking solution implementation will help the RRB become more agile, deliver digital services to customers faster, and strengthen its position in the marketplace."

Wipro's Role in Digital Transformation

Karnataka Gramin Bank will now use the core banking solution platform to deploy the state of the art latest technology in all of its 1167 branches. According to the announcement, Wipro has completed the migration of all the branches and eight regional offices of the Kaveri Grameena Bank.

Wipro is also responsible for the maintenance and post-migration deployments since the deployment began in the month of December 2019. In the year 2019, Wipro has earlier offered technology-driven solutions for all the branches of the Pragathi Krishna Gramin Bank.

In the month of February this year, Wipro Digital acquired customer experience firm Rational Interaction.
