TCS wins Digital Transformation deal with Retail Chain Coop Sweden

Coop Sweden has recently signed a deal with the Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) to accelerate its digital transformation program.

Under this new deal, TCS will help the retailer provide consistent consumer experiences across its digital platforms as well as at its physical locations.

Coop Sweden is one of the largest grocery and retail providers in Sweden. TCS will expand Coop’s current SAP S/4 HANA retail platform. New applications and automation technologies will be also incorporated at Coop as a part of this partnership.

HANA is the German Technology giant SAP’s enterprise database management platform.

CIO, Coop Sweden, Liselotte Andersson, said, "With a complex portfolio of retail IT-systems supporting over 800 locations across Sweden, we were looking for a strategic partner that would enable us to transform our applications and provide a better experience for our customers and employees. TCS also revealed that Coop Sweden will leverage ignio, an Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning based cognitive automation software.

Ignio, an AI platform, has more than 75 patents filed in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and intelligent automation space and claimed to be developed indigenously at the TCS Research & Innovation Labs. Ignio currently manages more than 1.5million technology resources for more than 50 clients. In 2019,  TCS through its venture arm Digitate launched an upgrade to its artificial intelligence / cognitive automation product, ignio Cheetah.

The solution will help to automate the crucial tasks, reduce resolution delays, and improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise operations at Coop, notes the announcement.
