Wipro opens next gen engineering and innovation center in Virginia

Wipro has recently set up an innovation and engineering center in Virginia, the US. The new center will create 200 additional jobs in the Richmond area by the end of 2021.

Wipro employs around 500 professionals across Virginia, out of whom 420 are in the Richmond area. The company will also host workshops on design thinking and innovation projects that feature collaboration across the various industries.

The new facility will focus on full-stack engineering, customer experience, and accelerators across cybersecurity, cloud, digital and DevOps, notes the announcement.

Wipro also plans to partner with the startups to share their skills and expertise than can be helpful for small, medium, and large enterprises. The center technologies, expertise, and training will also be going to make available to the community leaders, education, professionals, and policymakers.

Wipro's Virginia Office

Wipro, as of now, is looking to hire graduates from the University of Virginia, University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, and some other local universities of Virginia.

The opening of the Richmond office follows the launch of Wipro Pivotal Software Centre of Excellence in Dallas and the Technology and Digital Centre in Minneapolis at the starting of this year.

Previously, in August, Wipro partnered with Camunda to provide the Workflow Automation Platform.
