Tech Mahindra signs Tech Transformation deal with AT&T

Tech Mahindra expanded its partnership with AT&T Communications to modernize its network systems and cloud migration operations.

As a part of the deal, Tech Mahindra will help AT&T migrate the telecom giant’s non-network workloads to the public cloud by the end of 2024. The announcement noted that Tech Mahindra will manage applications that support network and shared systems.

CIO, AT&T Communications, Jon Summers, said, "Our agreement with Tech Mahindra is another step forward in delivering greater flexibility across our IT operations. This includes optimizing our core operations and modernizing our internal network applications to accelerate innovation as we march forward to our goal of a nationwide 5G network by the first half of 2020. Our collaboration with Tech Mahindra will ultimately help accelerate our network operations and overall technology leadership."

MD and CEO, Tech Mahindra, CP Gurnani, said, "This is a step towards elevating Tech Mahindra’s long standing strategic relationship with AT&T to help make the vision of a 5G-enabled future, a reality. As part of our TechMNxt charter, Tech Mahindra is betting big on 5G – network of the future, and is focused on technology-led innovation to enable digital transformation for our customers globally."

Tech Mahindra and AT&T partnership

The companies plan to bring more agility in rolling out and supporting future networks. The aim is to improve the returns on investment by using the technology-led transformation, the announcement notes. The transformation roadmap envisaged by the AT&T aims to improve its network applications by optimizing functionalities, costs, business processes, and the general quality of the solutions.

Tech Mahindra will harness frontier technologies like the Data Analytics, AI, and 5G to develop modern solutions for the AT&T. The key aim of this partnership is to improve AT&T's 5G time-to-market along with reducing the cost of ownership by automating AT&T's network lifecycle.

In August, Tech Mahindra partnered with the American digital solutions startup Adjoint, to offer a blockchain solution for the insurance services and financial management.

Previously, a three-year deal was signed between the Tech Mahindra and Aakash Educational services to digitize the education technology platform IT operations.

In another technological deal, American blockchain solution provider BlockApps had chosen Tech Mahindra to help accelerate the adoption of blockchain networks by enterprises.
