Forrester Research reports MongoDB as a leader in Database-As-A-Service

Forrester in its latest Database-As-A-Service, Q2 2019 report listed MongoDB as a leader in Database-as-a-service along with Oracle, Amazon, Microsoft and Google.

Forrester has evaluated many databases-as-a-service (DBaaS) vendors. The criteria applied are like high availability, disaster recovery, multimodel support, automation, user access and roadmap. These are only a few of the criterions out of 27 criterions applied while evaluating databases-as-a-service (DBaaS) vendors.

The announcement stated that more than 13000 customers from 100 plus countries use MongoDB for business-critical workloads and for mobile, IoT and AI/ML use cases.

Executive Opinion

SVP, Cloud Products and GTM, MongoDB, Sahir Azam, said, "We believe the placement of MongoDB Atlas as a leader in The Forrester Wave: Database-As-A-Service, Q2 2019 is a strong validation of the strength of our global cloud database and the sophistication of our customers. Innovative cloud-native startups as well as established, regulated enterprises are adopting the cloud at breakneck speed and we believe that only MongoDB Atlas can provide the flexibility and scale they need to do it efficiently."
