Cybersecurity company Sophos opens Data center in Mumbai

 

Sophos, a cyber-security firm, has now opened its new data center in Mumbai.

The Sophos data center offers the local capacity to address the growing demand for Sophos Central, the cloud management platform that supports the Sophos portfolio of enhanced cybersecurity products.

IN ET report, Sunil Sharma, managing director of sales for India and SAARC, Sophos, said, "With massive digital transformation due to accelerated cloud adoption, many Indian organizations want to store their data in the country to meet data sovereignty requirements. The local data center enables Sophos to address the business issues that impact the cybersecurity buying decisions of these organizations. This will make it as easy as possible for customers and partners to access the best threat protection and detection and data storage options available from Sophos."

The data center also offers public and private organizations of any size the ability to store, manage and access data in-country by allowing them to meet the local data sovereignty regulations.

The Sophos India data center is hosted by AWS in Mumbai and is Sophos' third data center in the Japan and Asia Pacific region. The other two locations are in Japan and Australia.

The initial products and services in the portfolio with access to the new data center include the Sophos Extended Detection and Response, Intercept X for Servers, Sophos Intercept X, Sophos Managed Threat Response Servers, and Sophos Encryption.
