Kyndryl and AWS establish Strategic Partnership to accelerate Cloud Adoption

IBM

IBM’s infrastructure management services spin-off, Kyndryl, has recently collaborated with AWS to build an AWS Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE).

Kyndryl will also be building its own internal cloud infrastructure on the AWS Cloud. With this collaboration, AWS will now become a Kyndryl global alliance partner.

Executive Opinion

Martin Schroeter, Chairman and CEO of Kyndryl, said, "Our ability to freely explore and unleash the combined benefits of AWS cloud services with Kyndryl's deep industry-specific managed services and expertise will provide an unprecedented level of knowledge and innovation. Together, we will invest in enhancing Kyndryl's expertise in AWS to help companies modernize, innovate, and compete."

Adam Selipsky, Chief Executive Officer at AWS, saidsaid, "Organizations everywhere are choosing AWS to transform their businesses and tackle some of the world's most difficult challenges – from putting automated vehicles on our streets, to improving healthcare outcomes, to addressing climate change. By combining forces with Kyndryl, we are helping customers of all sizes to modernize faster than ever before, grow their businesses, and transform what's possible. Together, we are committed to educating, empowering, and enabling thousands of AWS certified practitioners and developing joint solutions that will accelerate customers' journeys and help them innovate on the world's leading cloud."

Kyndryl and AWS Cloud Collaboration

The collaboration will also require re-skilling of Kyndryl’s employees on AWS services; in this regard, Kyndryl will educate around 10000 employees on AWS services by the end of 2022.

The Center of Excellence will offer solutions for the IT infrastructure and application or workflow modernization.

Kyndryl and AWS will also develop an accelerator for the VMware Cloud on AWS. The accelerator will help offer custom solutions to combine their VMware cloud solutions with AWS services. Kyndryl has a higher concentration of customers running on the VMware on-premises, and the collaboration will help move their workloads to the cloud easily.

Kyndryl also revealed that it has already invested in developing AWS competencies and has built a team of AWS certified professionals via its in-house training school, the Kyndryl academy of AWS.
