Blockchain Video Game Studio Blockade Games secured $5 million in Seed extension round

Blockade Games, a New York based blockchain video game studio, has now secured a $5 million extension round at a $23 million valuation.

Blockade Games was founded by Marguerite deCourcelle in the year 2018. It is a blockchain video game development studio and parent company of Neon District, Pine Apple Arcade and Plasma Bears. It is developing blockchain layer two gaming and infra apps, in particular, a flagship game, Neon District, which is a free play, play to earn cyberpunk role-playing game featuring collectable NFTs on the Ethereum and Polygon.

The blockchain video game startup, as of now, has a user base of around 100000 and has also created 11K+ new users in the past month. The game also has 177K+ unique asset owners, and 2.1M+ Season 1 NFTs have been minted.

Blockade Games' Latest Funding

Animoca Brands and Digital led the funding round with participation from Flamingo DAO, Dapper Labs, Redbeard Ventures, and others.

The blockchain video game startup, as of now, has plans to use the new funds for hiring, partnerships, game development, and marketing efforts focused on community engagement and user growth, notes an announcement.
