Bangalore International Airport and Microsoft launched Hackathon to develop Passenger App

Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) has recently collaborated with Microsoft India to host the BIAL Genie Hackathon.  BIAL plans to develop a super app for passengers with the help of a Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

The hackathon, which began on the 27th of October and will conclude on the 21st of January next year, is expected to see participation from the data scientists, developers, and data engineers who worked on creating innovative solutions to improve end to end passenger experiences.

The participants will utilize Microsoft Azure cloud based tools to build passenger experiences across the different stages of their journey. The solution will cater to the whole gamut of the journey, from planning the trip to arriving at the destination.

Following the hackathon, developers will showcase the solutions to the jury, who will evaluate the prototypes. The shortlisted teams will receive Azure credits, mentoring sessions, and technical resources from Microsoft officials. 

The winning and runner-up teams will receive a cash prize of INR 1.5 lakh and INR 1 lakh, respectively.
