L&T Technology develops AI Parking solution to solve Parking Lot problem

Vadodara India based L&T Technology Services and chipmaker Intel have now partnered to develop an Artificial Intelligence powered parking solution to improve the efficiency of parking lots.

The AI parking guidance system will help drivers to locate parking spaces nearby in the parking lots. The smart parking solution leverages Intel's Open Visual Inference and Neural network Optimization (OpenVINO) toolkit to run AI inferencing models on Intel Xeon scalable processors and Intel Movidius VPUs (Vision Processing Units).

L&T Technology's Smart Parking Solution

The smart parking solution boosts edge AI capabilities and consists of four key components. The four components include,
  1. Operator portal that hosts user information, 
  2. Mobile app for the end-user, 
  3. Digital signage module for Security, and 
  4. Digital camera
The AWS Cloud powers the AI parking solution and connects all four listed components above.

The company revealed that the parking solution scales to thousands of parking spots among parking lots and does not leverage sensors. L&T Technology Services' AI smart parking solutions features include reservation of parking spots, real-time parking occupancy tracking in the parking lot, and parking insights via AI-enabled surveillance of operations via augmented video analytics.

The company plans to target parking lots in stadiums, airports, office campuses, and shopping malls with its AI smart parking solutions.
