NASSCOM and Microsoft to promote AI innovation in India with AI Gamechangers program

Today, NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies) has launched a new ‘AI Gamechangers’ program in partnership with Microsoft.

The program aims to scale up Artificial Intelligence adoption across the key sectors in India. NASSCOM is a non-for-profit Indian consortium created to promote the development of the country's BPO and IT industries.

Ms. Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM, said, "The past decades have seen a dramatic growth of innovation and talent in India. While the country continues to leap forward to become the global innovation hub, we expect AI to unlock $500 Bn of value to India’s GDP by 2025. Through this program, we aim to spotlight some of the leading AI-based innovations in the country, not only to recognize their efforts but to motivate the larger ecosystem to leverage this opportunity to help India become a global powerhouse in AI-led innovation."

Anant Maheshwari, President – Microsoft India, said, "Cloud-led data and AI innovation offers a huge canvas for India to be the tech engine of the world and drive homegrown innovation. Data and AI are driving transformation at scale across industries and offer a tremendous opportunity to transform public infrastructure and solve some of the most critical issues facing the country today. We are proud to partner with NASSCOM on the AI Gamechangers program to create a strong ecosystem that recognizes and supports AI-led innovation in the country."

NASSCOM's AI Gamechanger Program

Under this latest AI initiative, the NASCOMM will recognize startups, academia, enterprises, and NGOs that have successfully implemented Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning technologies across various useful products and services.

The successful winners of AI-powered use cases will be honored at the NASSCOM’s Xperience AI Summit. It will offer them a platform and the impetus they need to drive AI innovation in the country.

They will be featured in an annual compendium, which will be released at the summit.

The entries for the AI Gamechangers platform can be accepted from the 4th of March  2021 to the 16th of April 2021. A panel of industry leaders and subject matter experts will first judge the entries on the basis of solution, problem, and the impact being achieved, notes the announcement.
