Accenture introduces VMware Business Group with focus on Cloud Adoption

Accenture

Accenture and VMWare have now revealed an extension of their existing partnership and launched the Accenture VMWare Business Group. The aim of the group is to help organizations adopt a cloud-first strategy.

The cloud approach will involve accelerating migration to the cloud, building modern applications faster, and ultimately using the cloud as a foundation for the co-innovation and new business models.

Executive Opinion

Julie Sweet, chief executive officer, Accenture, said, "Cloud is the single most powerful tool for mastering change. As organizations accelerate their move to the cloud and edge over the next few years, the Accenture VMware Business Group will help deliver the speed, scale, and security they need to fundamentally reinvent their businesses and create more value."

Pat Gelsinger, chief executive officer, VMware, said, "To meet the demands of today’s unprecedented business environment, organizations must employ a multi-cloud strategy — more rapidly than ever before. Increasingly, customers are running their applications on one or more clouds, data centers, and the edge, and the Accenture VMware Business Group will bring together the world-class teams and expertise required, with the speed, agility, and resilience that organizations demand today and tomorrow."

Accenture's VMware Business Group

The dedicated business group will be a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment from both companies. Both the companies will be investing in go-to-market and sales operations, training more Accenture practitioners in VMWare technologies, and developing service offerings, accelerators, and assets using VMware technologies.

With the partnership, the companies will also develop a pre-engineered industry solution. It will include a platform to help telecom companies accelerate the rollout of edge computing as well as 5G services.

The newly introduced business group will be backed by Accenture's 2000 cloud professionals trained in the VMware products and services, among others.

The new business group will also introduce a VMware Cloud Migration Factory to migrate computing workloads to the cloud faster and in a secured manner, notes the announcement.
