Artificial Intelligence startup AIStorm secured $16 million in funding
AIStorm, a Texas-based developer of AI in Sensor processors, has now secured $16 million in Series B funding.
AIStorm is founded by David Schie in the year 2018. It is a leader with AI in Sensor processing, which eliminates the power and cost associated with competitive solutions at the edge.
The company has its offices in Budapest, Graz, and Hsinchu.
Executive Opinion
David Schie, CEO of AIStorm, said, "AIStorm’s approach is the only technology that allows the sensor to couple directly to popular convolutional neural networks. This allows AIStorm to deliver true, template-based ‘always-on’ at the edge—at prices that deep-submicron digital competitors cannot match for the same performance. This is a winning formula in the highly competitive IoT sector".
Jonney Shih, chairman of AsusTek, said, "AIStorm’s unique, charge-switched analog computing, coupled with its wise AI-in-Sensor approach, offers dramatic advantages for ultra-low power, ultra-low-latency AIoT edge computing. We look forward to an ongoing strategic collaboration".
AIStorm's Latest Funding
In partnership with its strategic partners, the company is targeting a range of applications where its technology provides unique advantages, which include facial recognition, imaging and audio, access control, people counting, face detection, segmentation, object tracking, and people counting.
The round was backed by the AsusTek, Egis Technology, Meyer Corporation, Knowles Corporation,
and Senvest Management.
The company as of now has plans to use the new funds to expand its business outreach, notes the announcement.
