Cloud powered Zero Trust Access startup Axis Security secured $32M in Series B Funding

Axis Security, a cloud-based Zero Trust Access company, has now secured $32 million in Series B funding.

Axis Security is founded by the Dor Knafo and Gil Azrielant. The company offers the Axis Security App Access Cloud that solves the issue of implicitly open network access with a modern approach. The company tries to addresses the pain points of network-based security associated with the VPNs, which can be complex, agent-based, slow to deploy, and hard to manage, especially when providing access to third-party supply chain partners, contractors, vendors, and remote employees at scale.

Gil Azrielant, the CTO of Axis Security, said, "We decided to focus on third parties and contractors at first, but we saw where the puck was going and definitely [designed] the infrastructure to become a full-blown, secure access product. So the infrastructure was there, and we just had to add a few things that were planned for later. What you can see, or what you can do, or what you can download or get to is fully controlled by our Application Access Cloud. This is based on what device you’re using, where you are, who you are, what role you’re in, and what you usually do and don’t do to determine the level of access you are going to get".

The round was backed by the Canaan Partners, with participation from Ten Eleven Ventures and Cyberstarts.

Post funding, Canaan Partners, Managing Partner, Joydeep Bhattacharyya will join the Axis Security Board of Directors team.

The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to accelerate its growth and meet the growing market demand due to the COVID-19 work from home effect. The company will also use new funds to expand outside North America, expand its channel program and team, notes the announcement.
