Nutanix launches Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure 'Clusters' on Amazon Web Services

Nutanix

Nutanix has now launched its hybrid cloud infrastructure ‘Clusters’ on Amazon Web Services (AWS). With this announcement, Nutanix's hyper-converged infrastructure is now available on bare metal Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Nutanix is founded by the Indian origin entrepreneur, Neeraj Pandey. It has been one of the most successful enterprise technology startups to go public this decade.

The company sells the hyper-converged infrastructure that virtualizes compute, storage, and networking using software solutions that automate a lot of infrastructure-related workloads.

Executive Opinion

Doug Yeum, Head of Worldwide Channels and Alliances at Amazon Web Services, Inc, said, "We are excited to support an extension of a customer’s private cloud environment into AWS with the launch of Clusters on AWS. This provides customers the flexibility to get the most out of both their AWS and Nutanix environments. Customers now have an opportunity to take advantage of Nutanix Clusters on AWS to deploy adjacent to their cloud-native applications in AWS and fast track their digital transformation."

Tarkan Maner, Chief Commercial Officer at Nutanix, said, "On behalf of our customers, we have always worked to make IT so simple that it's invisible. As the industry evolved, our focus has expanded beyond the data center to help our customers manage the complexity of multiple clouds, whether private or public. Nutanix Clusters on AWS is the realization of this vision. This enables complete flexibility by allowing businesses to write code once and use it anywhere, taking advantage of scale, location, integration, and pricing of multiple options - this is the true vision of hybrid cloud."

Nutanix Cloud platform

The hybrid cloud infrastructure is expected to help organizations accelerate their cloud journey with the AWS amid the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The availability will help users to migrate on-premises applications to the public cloud, unify operations across the multiple clouds as well as help them during the disaster recovery scenarios.

Nutanix revealed that the availability of its hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI)  solution at AWS eliminates the cost and management complexity of hybrid environments. It also helps in enabling seamless mobility across the public and private clouds without any re-architecting of the applications.

This is even due to the built-in networking integration with the cloud computing major AWS.
