Citrix has now signed a multi-year deal with Microsoft to help organizations accelerate the digital transformation journey and moving to the cloud environment.

As a part of the deal, Microsoft will deploy the Citrix digital workplace solution. At the same time, Citrix will leverage Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud platform and move Citrix's on-premise clients to the Azure cloud.

Executive Opinion

David Henshall, president, and CEO, Citrix, said, "The COVID-19 pandemic has forced businesses around the world to change the way that employees work, while still meeting the speed and security requirements that today’s uncertain business environment demands. Looking forward, hybrid work models will become the standard for many customers, requiring a flexible infrastructure to support, secure, and empower their teams. Together, Citrix and Microsoft can deliver a powerful digital workspace in a trusted and secure public cloud where employees can access everything they need to engage and be productive, whether they are at home, in the office, or on the road."

Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft, said, "As organizations everywhere adapt to new ways of work, they will need to reimagine how and where work gets done. Together with Citrix, we will apply the power of Azure to this challenge, helping our customers seamlessly and securely connect their employees to their applications, so they can be more agile and productive wherever they are."

Citrix and Microsoft Partnership

Citrix Workspace, as of now, allows multiple users to remotely access and operates the Microsoft Windows desktops running on the cloud or a data center.

Both the companies will work on to provide joint tools and services to help Citrix customer’s transition from an on-premise network to the Azure cloud faster.

The new solutions will be sold via their respective direct sales forces, the Azure channel partners, and the marketplace. The partnership will also support the flexible work by giving employees unified access to all the applications, content, and business service which they need to be productive.
