Wandelbots secured $30 million in Series B Funding round backed by the 83North

Wandelbots Wandelbots, a Germany based developer of a ‘no-code’ robot teaching platform, has now secured $30 million in a Series B funding round, reports TechCrunch.

Wandelbots is founded by the Christian Piechnick in the year 2017. It has developed a technology platform that enables non-programmers to train industrial robots across the globe to complete precision tasks.

Its ‘no-code’ handheld teaching device TracePen lets human technology robots how to perform some of the complex industrial tasks.

Executive Opinion

In TechCrunch report, Christian Piechnick, the CEO of Wandelbots, said, "The reversals regarding automation were caused by the inflexibility, complexity, and cost introduced by automation with robots. People are usually not aware that 75% of the total cost of ownership of a robot comes from software development. The problems introduced by robots were killing the benefit. This is exactly the problem we are tackling. We enable manufacturers to use robots with unseen flexibility, and we dramatically lower the cost of using robots. Our product enables non-programmers to easily teach a robot new tasks and thus, reduces the involvement of hard-to-find and costly programmers."

Wandelbots's Latest Funding

The round was backed by the 83North with participation from the Next47, M12 – Microsoft Venture fund, and prior investors EQT Ventures, Paua Ventures, and Atlantic Labs, as well as Alexander and Haniel (CEO of Celonis).

The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to accelerate time to market for TracePen and expand business outreach across the globe.
