Cisco to acquire networking monitoring startup ThousandEyes

Cisco announced its intention to acquire ThousandEyes, a provider of cloud intelligence platform that delivers visibility into the digital journey of applications.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close by the end of Q1 FY 2021.

The ThousandEyes cloud platform offers visibility into experience for every user and application over any network. The company raised total of $110.7M to date in six funding rounds, according to CrunchBase.

ThousandEyes will now going to join Cisco networking business unit and will be directly reporting to, the General Manager at Cisco Networking and Cloud, Todd Nightingale, notes the announcement.

As a part of the Networking Services Business Unit, ThousandEyes Co-founder and CEO Mohit Lad will be going to take the role of General Manager of ThousandEyes, and CTO will continue to drive the technology and innovation strategy.

ThousandEyes will capabilities that will enhance visibility across enterprise, internet and the cloude. These capabilities will encrich Cisco’s core Enterprise Networking and Cloud, and AppDynamics portfolio..

The combination of Cisco expertise in the network and ThousandEyes visibility on the web will  help customers with into the digital journey of applications and services. It will further allow them to improve both the application and network performance across the cloud and enterprise networks.

The deal will also allow the organizations to accelerate their digital transformation by delivering comprehensive visibility into applications and services delivered to employees and customers.
