Accenture to acquire Gekko, an AWS Cloud Services Company
Accenture has now agreed to acquire Gekko, an AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud services company based out of France. The financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Founded in 2005, Gekko is AWS Solution Provider and offers consulting, integration and managed services on AWS. Gekko has more than 100 trained cloud professionals. And since its establishment, the firm has served more than 80 clients, which includes some of the biggest French companies, to design, maintain and deploy a flexible, secure, and connected cloud infrastructure.

Accenture’s Geographic Unit managing director for France and Benelux, Olivier Girard, said, "Aligned with our development strategy, the acquisition of Gekko would be another significant addition because it would give clients more support for public cloud options. Gekko would also be a major opportunity to accelerate our growth strategy in France. Accenture’s advantage is our ability to keep pace with evolving customer expectations. Our clients call on Accenture to help them innovate and transform their business. Gekko would bring key cloud, AI, and DevOps skills and would help us serve a greater and more diverse range of clients in France and the broader European market."Managing Director at Accenture Technology in France and Benelux, Cedric Le Yeuc’h, said, "The acquisition of Gekko would underscore our multi-cloud strategy and would expand our AWS capabilities for clients to realize incremental business value through cloud adoption and DevOps transformation. The acquisition of Gekko would enhance our position as one of the leading providers of AWS expertise and cloud transformation in the French market."

The acquisition would help the Accenture to expand AWS resources in France to support enterprise migrations and development on the cloud platform.It would also help Accenture to strengthen its positions with key providers in the Artificial Intelligence and Cloud, enhance its end to end intelligent infrastructure services and complement the capabilities of the Accenture Amazon Web Services Business Group with Accenture Technology in Belgium, France, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
