SKODA AUTO Reveals DigiLab India and Software Development Centre in Pune

Skoda Auto has recently set up its fourth global DigiLab Unit in Pune to support Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited's core businesses and developing digital and mobility solutions.

The Czech Republic-based Skoda Auto has similar centers in Tel Aviv, Beijing, and Prague.

Apart from that, Volkswagen IT Services India Private Limited has set up a dedicated software development center to support global IT requirements of Skoda Auto, notes the announcement.

Skoda Auto, CEO, Bernhard Maier, explains, "With ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab India, we are consistently expanding our global network. India is among the innovation drivers when it comes to digitalisation. The average age of the population will be just 29 years in 2025. The majority of our customers in India have grown up with smartphones and expect tailor-made mobility services and seamless connectivity in the car. This is exactly what we are undertaking at our new ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab India in partnership with local high-tech companies."

Skoda Auto Digitization

DigiLab India will focus on the core business of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited by developing mobility and digital solutions, while the software development center will develop digital solutions.

Volkswagen IT services are the internal division of the Volkswagen Group offering a digital solution, product innovation, and application development.
Skoda is also expected to join forces with technology companies and promising startups in the country to strengthen the country's talent pool.

Both the companies are working on an India 2.0 project – a Skoda led market strategy for the entire Volksgan Group in the Indian Market, notes the announcement.

The services, as well as mobility and digital solutions developed by the two new units, will be going to benefit all the Volkswagen Group brands – Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Lamborghini in India.
