AI startup, Transporter.city, Raises funds to expand its Platform and Service Capabilities

Transporter.city secured funding from Axilor Ventures and others

Transporter.city, AI-enabled startup, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Lead Angels, Axilor Ventures, TouchStone Equities, and other angel investors.

Gurgaon, India based Transporter.city was founded in 2015 by the Soumya Arora and Shailendra Singh. The company is building a network of delivery stations operated by the local vendors to implement their functions of logistics.

The newly raised funds will be used to build enhance technology platform and pan India service capabilities, the announcement notes.

Sushanto Mitra, CEO, Lead Angels, said “Logistics remains a big problem to be solved in India, and while technology solutions abound, execution is the key. In the Transporter team led by Shailendra Singh, we saw both an ability to conceptualize solutions and execute solutions.”

Transporter.City Platform 

The Transporter aims to become the go-to technology-enabled local distribution solution. The supply chain solution will help all kinds of businesses to deliver its goods directly to the customer. The transporter is also working on building a network of asset-light micro delivery stations. These stations will be run by the small local vendors but managed completely for control, QC and service, notes the announcement.

The stations work on a model of Distribute & Drop. In this model, shipment from the client fall on a platform, then connected the same or next day to customers with the help of shared delivery resources.

The transporter is becoming a much more preferred logistics partner for all types of SME’s in India that sells directly to its consumers, that struggles with logistics, says the announcement.

The company is counting on its technology-first approach and expanding its service coverage. The company aims to quickly integrate their shipping requirements to Transporter and deliver to their customers, the announcement notes.
