Connected Car Solution, Hum, with the Google Assistant Now Available

Hum by Verizon, an all-in-one connected car solution, now integrated with Google Assistant and is displayed at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019.

This is the first 4G LTE connected car solution with Google Assistant built in and provides users with vehicle location, diagnostics, emergency roadside assistance, trip history and more.

The Google Assistant can be accessed with a single tap on the call button on the HumX speaker. The announcement said that now with the Google Assistant built in, HumX users will be able to manage tasks and get answers to questions hands-free while on the road. The integration of Google Assistance allows users to perform Hum-specific actions, such as locate a vehicle, access trip history, set a speed alert, or get fuel status from Google Assistant enabled devices such as a smartphone, tablet, Google Home or HumX.

The second generation of HumX users will receive an over-the-air update that will automatically enable the Google Assistant on their Hum device.

Vice president of product for Verizon Connect, Michael Maddux, said, "More than ever, we're empowering drivers with the information they need for the road ahead. Using the Google Assistant, Hum customers can ask about their car's location, fuel level or about any of the day's priorities, such as how long it will take to get to work or what's on their calendar."

The announcement said that HumX with the Google Assistant will be available at Verizon Wireless retail stores and through hum.com in the first quarter of 2019.
