AI compute solutions platform d-Matrix secured $44 Million in Series A Funding

d-Matrix, a California based provider of AI compute solutions for the data centers, has now secured $44 million in a Series A funding round.

d-Matrix was founded by Sid Sheth. It aims to bring a DIMC based inference to a compute platform to market. The company has developed a novel AI compute platform that uses a combination of the intelligent ML tools and software approaches paired with chiplets in a Lego Block formation, enabling the integration of multiple programming engines on a common package.

Executive Opinion

Sid Sheth, Founder, President & CEO of d-Matrix, said, "d-Matrix has been on a three-year journey to build the world’s most efficient computing platform for AI inference at scale. We’ve developed a path-breaking compute architecture that is all-digital, making it practical to implement while advancing AI compute efficiency far past the memory wall it has hit today."

Sasha Ostojic, Venture Partner at Playground Global, said, "The hyper scale and edge data centre markets are approaching performance and power limits, and it’s clear that a breakthrough in AI compute efficiency is needed to match the exponentially growing market. d-Matrix is a novel, defensible technology that can outperform traditional CPUs and GPUs, unlocking and maximizing power efficiency and utilization through their software stack. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with this team of experienced operators to build this much-needed, no-tradeoffs technology."

d-Matrix's Latest Funding

The round was backed by Playground Global, SK Hynix, and M12.

The AI startup, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to build out its product roadmap and grow its team across India, the US and Australia – which as of now consists of around 50+ members, 30% of whom are PhD, representing a mix of both technical and operational experience.
