L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has now signed a collaboration agreement with the UK Coventry University to build and deliver new-gen engineering solutions for the automotive and manufacturing sectors.

L&T Technology Services is an India-based engineering research and development services company. The company is engaged in offering a wide range of engineering services and related technologies in the field of mechanical, embedded systems, and others.

The partnership with Coventry University will expand research and development in Autonomous technologies, Electric Vehicles (EV), and Software-Defined Vehicles, notes the announcement.

Autonomous technology means any system that can function without being told what to do by humans. Autonomous technologies are now implemented in driverless cars, robots, and manufacturing industries.

EV stands for Electric Vehicles. There are mainly electric battery-operated electric vehicles as well as hybrid electric vehicles.

Software-defined Vehicles have their features and functionality are enabled with the help of software. Some of the day-to-day software-defined functions include infotainment innovations, driver assistance features, and intelligent connectivity solutions. Vehicles are now becoming part of the larger internet of things (IoT) ecosystem and transfer data in and out of the cloud.
