Full Stack Native Graph AI Processor startup Roviero secured $6.6 Million in funding

Roviero, a California-based AI startup, has now secured $6.6 million in a seed funding round.

Roviero is founded by Ravi Setty, Deepak Mittal, and Sumat Mehra. It is building the first Native Graph Artificial Intelligence Processor, which addresses the edge AI compute market and enables ultra-low power, efficient, and high-performance computing, which is ideally suited for edge applications such as IoT devices, cameras, computers, and smartphones to be natively intelligent.

Deepak Mital, CEO at Roviero, said, "Roviero is bringing innovation to the market via its software-based approach to neural network acceleration. The graph instructions invented by the team at Roviero dramatically reduce the compiler complexity, allowing us to implement all variations of neural networks with various backbones and support for all current and future frameworks. Another advantage the approach brings is high utilization of compute thereby dramatically reducing the size of compute elements required and at the same time reducing the amount of active memory by orders of magnitude. Through this huge validation by industry experts, we plan to expand our base and solidify our position as a dominant player in the AI acceleration market".

Great Point Ventures led the funding round. Other participating investors include the Dolby Family Ventures and Monta Vista Capital.

The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to expand its development efforts. The funding also helps Roviero to strengthen its position as a dominant player in the AI acceleration market, notes the announcement.
