Itaú Unibanco Brazil selects AWS to accelerate its Digital Transformation journey

AWS (Amazon Web Services) has now revealed that Itau Unibanco Holding has now selected AWS as its long term strategic cloud service provider. The multi-year strategic cloud deal spans 10 years.

Itau Unibanco is a Brazilian private banking group based out in Sao Paulo and was incepted in 2008 by the merger deal of the banks Itau and Unibanco.

As per the deal, it will leverage the AWS cloud to accelerate its digital transformation deal. Itau Unibanco will migrate its entire IT infrastructure off mainframes and out of its on-premises data centers to the AWS cloud.

Itau Unibanco will also now going to move its core banking platform web applications, call center & service products, and mobile banking applications to Amazon Web Services.

The bank will now use the AWS infrastructure and some of its other services, which include managed databases, analytics, machine learning, containers, security, storage, and compute. The bank also has plans to train its employees, with the latest advanced cloud technologies, for faster development, notes the announcement.
