Pure Storage to Acquire Kubernetes storage platform provider Portworx

Pure Storage has acquired Kubernetes storage platform provider Portworx for $370 Million in an all-cash deal.

Founded in 2014, Los Altos, California headquartered Portworx is a cloud-native storage and data management company. The company offers the industry’s first storage solution purpose-built for containers. The company has secured a total of $55.5 Million in three funding rounds, according to CrunchBase.

Pure Storage's Portworx Acquisition

Pure Storage intends to leverage Portworx's container data services with its data platforms and Pure Service Orchestrator software. Pure Storage plans to deliver data services that can be deployed in-cloud, on bare metal, or on enterprise arrays, all natively orchestrated in Kubernetes, notes the announcement.
