Tech Mahindra and IBM collaborates to set up Global Innovation Centres, to promote IBM Cloud

Tech Mahindra is now collaborating with IBM to help businesses transform their operations and accelerate hybrid cloud strategies.

Tech Mahindra will leverage IBM Cloud Paks to help its clients migrate their workloads to IBM Cloud.

The firms will establish innovation centers to address some of the complex business problems across different industries which include insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing, and financial services.

President and Global Head of Strategic Initiatives at Tech Mahindra, Pawan Sharma, said, "The collaboration with IBM will help us accelerate the development of cloud-based applications for our customers and build multi-cloud data management solutions on the industry-leading hybrid platform. The commitment to building Innovation Centers aligns with our TechMNxt charter, an initiative that leverages emerging technology to solve real-world business problems for customers."

SVP, Cognitive Applications, Blockchain, and Ecosystems, IBM, Bob Lord, said, "This collaboration with Tech Mahindra is designed to help speed how businesses migrate critical enterprise workloads to the IBM public cloud and transform their operations using cloud-native technologies. IBM Cloud Paks are designed to help businesses speed their journeys to the cloud by giving them the flexibility and choice they need to modernize their applications. Because they are pre-integrated to deliver specific customer use cases, they can help quickly address pressing challenges for businesses across multiple industries."

Tech Mahindra and IBM Collaboration

The first innovation global center will open in Bangalore, Karnataka, in the current year. Tech Mahindra also plans to open additional centers in North America and the United Kingdom.

The center will be offer transformation solutions with the help of IBM Cloud Paks, a software solution running on the Red Hat OpenShift.  IBM public cloud ecosystem supports system integrators and independent software vendors to modernize their clients' mission-critical workloads on the IBM public cloud. Tech Mahindra is the newest player to join IBM public cloud ecosystem.

This month, amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, IBM in March has also announced free access to its cybersecurity and data services for 90 days. IBM Cloud also collaborated with Infosys to help enterprises accelerate Digital Transformation.
