ServiceNow acquires Artificial Intelligence startup 'Passage AI'

ServiceNow has now signed an agreement to acquire Passage AI, a California based conversational AI platform company. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2016, Passage AI is a provider of AI, NLU/P technology as well as the bot building tools for conversational interfaces. The company raised a total of $10.3 Million in two funding rounds to date, according to CrunchBase. Passage AI uses deep learning algorithms to build chatbots that respond to your customer's and employees' requests with a very high number of accuracy.

The product and platforms of the ServiceNow include the Service Portal, Workspaces, ServiceNow Virtual Agent, and Emerging Interfaces. ServiceNow plans to leverage Passage AI's machine learning and deep learning technology to advance workflow more smoothly across the enterprise, in all major languages, notes the announcement.

Building deep learning, conversational AI capabilities into the Now Platform will enable a work request initiated in German, or a customer inquiry initiated in Japanese to be solved by Virtual Agent. ServiceNow's Passage AI Acquisition

With the acquisition of Passage AI, ServiceNow also gets a truckload of AI talent, which in itself has some value, but it also gets AI technology that should easily fit in nicely with the mission of ServiceNow.

As a partner to the world's largest IT enterprises, ServiceNow is now much more focused on digital transformation and driving more customer success.

Previously, ServiceNow acquired AI startups including Loom Systems, DxContinuum, Parlo, Attivio, FriendlyData, and Qlue. The acquisition of Passage AI follows the same trend to boost ServiceNow's AI capabilities.
