FireEye Buys Cloudvisory, a Dallas-Based Cloud Security company

FireEye, a California based Intelligence-led security company, has acquired CloudVisory, a provider of continuous visibility, and compliance for multi-cloud and data center assets.

The financial terms of deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2013, Dallas based CloudVisory offers Cloudvisory Security Platform (CSP) to address visibility, security, policy management, and compliance challenges in a multi-cloud environment.

The acquisition helps FireEye extend its FireEye Helix security operations platform with Cloudvisory. FireEye customers will able to monitor multi-cloud environments, integrate security, and manage hybrid cloud firewalls for container platforms.

CloudVisory co-founder and chief executive officer prior to the acquisition, Lisun Kung,  said, "Joining FireEye offers CloudVisory a unique opportunity to combine our innovative approach to cloud visibility and FireEye’s unrivaled insights into the threat landscape. We’re excited by the potential to quickly scale and help more organizations secure their cloud and container workloads."


Executive Vice President of Products and Customer Success at FireEye, Grady Summers, said, "Customers need consistent visibility across their public and hybrid cloud environments, as well as containerized workloads. Cloudvisory delivers this visibility and allows FireEye to apply controls and best practices based on our frontline knowledge of how attackers operate. Security is top of mind for almost all organizations as they migrate critical workloads to the cloud. With the addition of the Cloudvisory technology, FireEye is able to offer a comprehensive, intelligence-led solution to secure today’s hybrid, multi-platform environments."

CloudVisory Capabilities at FireEye Helix

Post integration of CloudVisory with FireEye Helix platform, the renewed offering will also assess configurations against the compliance standards and some of the best practices, report on actions that are out of compliance, and deliver ongoing monitoring of environments.

The CloudVisory solution has capabilities to operates across Google Cloud, OpenStack, VMware, AWS, Kubernetes and virtualized bare-metal environments, notes the announcement. The solution can detect and remediate misconfigurations and malicious across multiple cloud providers, visibility into network data traffic for applications, workloads and microservices, advanced compliance assurance controls, and the ability to detect, quarantine attacks, alert, and blocks using the cloud-native micro-segmentation.

FireEye has more than 8500 customers across the 103 countries, which include more than 50% of the Forbes Global 2000.
