Accenture along with SAP co-develop new cloud-based solution

Accenture and Technology firm SAP joined hands to co-develop SAP cloud for utility solutions. The aim of new cloud platform is to enable organizations to manage business processes and their customer experiences.

The solution is designed for the cloud or hybrid cloud deployments. Companies can leverage this solution to automate sales processes and further enhance customer experiences that can even result in revenue and loyalty, notes the announcement.

SAP Cloud for the Utilities can reportedly incorporate intelligent technologies and real-time business insights. The cloud platform will build capabilities around the commerce, service, marketing, self-service, product bundling, the fulfillment of the complex services, and subscription billing for both the commodity and non-commodity products.

Executive Opinion

Group chief executive for Accenture’s Resources business, Jean-Marc Ollagnier, said, "Working with SAP and our utility industry co-innovation group to accelerate developing SAP’s cloud-based platform for utilities can enable our clients to better create new experiences for their customers while streamlining back office operations. These benefits are important for utilities to be more competitive in markets that are under growing pressure due to advancing technology and changing consumer preferences, including better home energy efficiency and increased interest in renewable energy sources."

SAP Industries Co-President, Peter Maier, said, "SAP Cloud for Utilities is our strategic cloud solution, designed to support lead-to-cash processes that can enable utilities to capture new opportunities and develop fresh business models in the dynamic market for innovative commodity and non-commodity products. The industry needs to create great customer experiences with integrated solutions for short time-to-market and low cost-to-serve."

SAP and Accenture Collaboration

In March, both the firms revealed Project Elevate, a joint initiative to enhance customer experience with the industry-specific solutions for the SAP C/4HANA.
SAP Cloud for the utilities has come out of Project Elevate and will provide an end to end integrated solution.

This new mission offers unique industry insights, agile methodologies, and integration capabilities. It also includes the formation of an industry co-innovation group comprised of the leading global utility companies to help define and design the SAP Cloud for the utilities.

Some of the companies like the Innogy, Conergos, EDP, and MVV have already joined the hands for the co-innovation group, notes the announcement.
