Rockwell Automation Acquires MESTECH Services

Rockwell Automation has now announced that it has acquired the MESTECH services, a Pune (India) based manufacturing IT consulting and IoT firm.

MESTECH Services, which is founded in 2008, has been headquartered in Pune, India with operations in the US and Germany. 

The company caters to the needs of Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Digital and Smart Manufacturing, with its specialization in the Automotive, Discrete Verticals, Process, and life Sciences.

Vice President and General Manager, Systems & Solutions Business, Rockwell Automation, Matthew Fordenwalt,  said, "The acquisition of MESTECH expands our capabilities to profitably grow Information Solutions and Connected Services globally and accelerate Rockwell’s ability to help our customers execute digital transformation initiatives. India is one of Rockwell’s fastest-growing markets and MESTECH’s footprint and expertise will enable us to implement solutions faster, helping our customers increase their connectivity, efficiency, and productivity. At the same time, by joining the Rockwell family, MESTECH will be able to leverage Rockwell’s products and solutions in the areas of control, process, power information solutions and industrial IoT, including FactoryTalk Innovation Suite, powered by PTC, in order to help customers, develop the best possible solutions while minimizing risk."

The acquisition helps Rockwell expand consulting and systems integration capabilities in one of the fastest-growing Industrial Transformation Market.

In August this year, Rockwell revealed that it would help partner manufacturers in India to bridge Industry 4.0 skill gaps for their workforce. It will impart e-learning, certificate programs, instructor-led courses, and training workstations.

At the same point of time, by joining the Rockwell family, MESTECH will also be able to use the Rockwell products and solution in the areas of control, power information and control solutions, Industrial IOT which includes the FactoryTalk Innovative Suit supported by the PTC, to help the customers to develop the best possible solutions while minimizing risks, notes the announcement.

The acquisition transaction is not even expected to have a material impact on the Rockwell 2020 financial results, the announcement says.
