Accenture acquires Analytics8 to enhance AI-powered Data and Advanced Analytics Services

One of the largest IT consulting services company, Accenture, recently announced the acquisition of  Analytics8. The financial terms of the transactions are not disclosed.

Analytics8 was founded in 2002 offering data and analytics solutions to some of Australia’s largest organizations.

The deal will help Accenture strengthen its capabilities to deliver Artificial Intelligence powered data and advanced analytics services to clients, the announcement notes.

Managing director at Accenture who leads its analytics and artificial intelligence business in Australia and New Zealand, Amit Bansal, said, "In this data-driven age, organizations are increasingly seeking to harness the power of their information for competitive advantage and to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction. Together, we will offer a unique, AI-based approach to help clients combine data, analytics, and automation at scale."

Accenture’s chief analytics officer and global applied intelligence lead, Dr. Athina Kanioura, said, "Having the right talent is a critically important aspect of how we deliver value to clients. The Analytics8 team’s deep technical expertise and experience advising clients across a range of industries will complement our own — bolstering our growing Applied Intelligence business, particularly in the Australian market, and creating new opportunities to help clients accelerate their digital transformations."

As a part of the acquisition deal, Analytics8 Melbourne and Sydney based team of 70 professionals will join as the Accenture Applied Intelligence, providing expertise from multiple industries, which includes the finance and health care.
This marks Accenture's third acquisition in Australia in the past 12 months. In June 2019, Accenture acquired CRN Fast50 lister BCT Solutions. Followed by acquisition of  PrimeQ in December 2018  to strengthen Digital Transformation Capabilities on Oracle Cloud platform.

The recent acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, the announcement says.
