Facebook to allow Crypto Advertisements without any Pre-Approvals

Facebook has changed its advertisement policy and decided to allow cryptocurrency advertisements on its popular social media platform. The approvals for cryptocurrency advertisement are no longer required, notes the announcement.

Facebook's Prohibited Financial Products and Services Policy still will not allow advertisement on contracts for difference (CFDs), complex financial products exhibiting predatory behaviour and misleading people. Advertisement on Initial coin offerings (ICOs) and Binary options are also prohibited.

In a major shift in their crypto policies, Facebook no longer requires pre-approval for advertisements related to blockchain technology, industry news, education or events related to cryptocurrency.

Advertisements landing to Hardware & software for cryptocurrency mining, Cryptocurrency trading platforms and promoting cryptocurrency & closely related products will require prior permission from Facebook.

Facebook Crypto Ad Policy

Commenting on the approval process for crypto advertisements, the announcement said, "This process will continue to take into account licences they have obtained, whether they are traded on a public stock exchange (or are a subsidiary of a public company) and other relevant public background on their business."
