Siemens brings Mendix for MindSphere to Software Development of Industrial IoT


Siemens announced the availability of Mendix for MindSphere to software development for the industrial internet of things (IoT).

Medix is the world's leading low-code application development platform for the enterprises and Siemens acquired Mendix in 2018. MindSphere is a cloud-based open IoT operating system from Siemens. The platform helps developers build, test and deliver MindSphere applications with the support of open APIs, services.

The announcement noted a study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Siemens with IoT decision makers. The 43% respondents noted that OEMs that incorporate edge technologies into their devices are helpful to their organizations while 46% of respondents said partners developing vertical industry applications would be the most helpful.

Medix for MindSphere is a key innovation driver for IoT and companies can now build cost-effective industry-vertical IoT applications with built-in connectivity to edge devices.

Business developers, domain engineers, and plant operations staff can utilize the platform's AI-assisted, visual development model to develop IoT applications without any coding, notes the announcement.
