Ledger Nano X is Launched at CES 2019 Event

Ledger has launched a Bluetooth-enabled Ledger Nano X hardware wallet at CES 2019 conference at Las Vegas.

Established in 2014, Ledger, a company behind well known Ledger Nano S hardware wallet for cryptocurrencies has sold around 1.5 million units built on enhanced state-of-the-art security and delivering improved user experience and design. In early 2018, Ledger raised €61 million in Series B round of funding from FirstMark Capital, Cathay Innovation, Korelya Capital, CapHorn Invest, GDTRE and Digital Currency Group led by Draper Esprit.

Along with improved interace and larger screen, the Ledger Nano X can store up to 100 crypto assets and supports over 1100 different cryptocurrencies. This capacity is six times more capacity than the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. The hardware wallet helps in isolating private keys from the generally used computer or smartphone in order to protect their cryptocurrencies. Private keys represent ownership of the crypto assets, and by protecting them in a hardware wallet instead of on an exchange or in the cloud, users can rest assured that their assets are safe from attack.

Along with Ledger Nano X hardware wallet, a new mobile application called Ledger Live Mobile app is also launched. The new app will allow users of Ledger Nano X to swiftly manage secure cryptocurrency transactions, install and uninstall apps, check their balance in read-only mode and check their real-time balances. The app will be avaiable on 28th January 2019 on Apple App Store and Google Play.

According to the announcement, the Ledger Nano X has a Bluetooth feature that can easily and reliably connect through the Ledger Live Mobile app, which allows users to connect the device to their smartphone, providing increased mobility without sacrificing security.

The Ledger Nano X has been awarded the CES Innovation Award in Cyber Security and Personal Privacy for 2019 hounouring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products
