Software as Service (SaaS) leads India's Data Center Market Growth

India data center market set to clock a valuation of USD $4 billion by 2024. The compounded annual growth rate will be around 9% for the forecasted period, according to the latest report by Research And Markets.

As the cloud adoption is growing at a massive rate worldwide, the demand for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) is also growing in Indian enterprises.

Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad are the prime cities where local and international investments are coming to the data center market. The investments are primarily driven by construction of hyperscale facilities with the power capacity of over 50 MW in coming years.

India witnessed the revenue of USD $850 million in 2018 with the rise in the adoption of Software as a service (SaaS) market. India's 2018 budget also stressed the importance of increasing cloud and data center investment in the Indian market. The rise of smartphones driving the growth of cloud services and social media. The central and state governments are equally emphasizing on overall digital transformation to unlock the growth further. CtrlS, GPX Global Systems, and Pi Datacenters are investing in the development of facilities of Tier IV category in the India data center market.

Geographically, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and other states are the segments driving data center investments with Telangana leading the pack with CAGR of 19% for the forecasted period. Mumbai, the state capital of Maharashtra is the primary hub data center deployments for companies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Alibaba, and Google. At the same time companies like NTT Netmagic (DC3 Bangalore), ITI Limited, CtrlS, and ST Telemedia GDC are investing in data centers in Karnataka state.

The report also listed other major Datacenter investors like Bharti Airtel (NXTRA DATA), Bridge Data Centres, BSNL DATA CENTER, Colt Data Centre Services (COLt DCS), ITI Ltd, Reliance Communications (Global Cloud Xchange), Sify technologies, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), Zoho etc.

Companies such as Atos, Arista, Broadcom, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Cisco, Dell Technologies, Huawei, IBM, Lenovo, and NetApp are the critical Data Center (IT) infrastructure, providers.
