Lanner makes a new addition to its LTE-Ready edge computing devices. Intel® based, small form factor appliance NCA-1210 has successfully received PTCRB certification. It is now validated as a reliable hardware platform for OEMs, Service Providers and System Integrators for deploying multi-site management, edge security, SD-WAN and IoT applications requiring LTE connectivity.

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO : Lanner Electronics, Inc. (https://www.lanner-america.com), an Intel® IoT Alliance Member and a leading original design manufacturer (ODM) of network computing appliances and gateways, today announced that its small form factor desktop appliance NCA-1210 has received the PTCRB wireless communication certification. NCA-1210 is ready for IoT edge, wireless security and multi-site management solution deployment for commercial, enterprise and public sector applications.

NCA-1210 integrates Telit’s CAT4 LTE Module (LE910-NA V2) to enable cellular communication over service provider networks. It comes in a compact desktop form factor, ideal for branch office and retail environment. As a wireless gateway for such environment, NCA-1210 is built in an x86 open architecture for flexibility to run various software and virtual network functions.

The PTCRB agency defines tests and methodology for approval of cellular devices in North America to ensure compliance with cellular network standards for operators, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Rogers, Bell, and Telus networks.

The NCA-1210 platform is empowered by Intel® Atom™ processor C2558 (codenamed Rangeley) to deliver the required performance and power efficiency in an edge security deployment. The processor delivers ideal performance and power balance and is programmed with Intel® QuickAssist Technology for accelerated cryptographic engine.
