Blockchain platform KODAKOne partners with Social Media content market place Lobster

Blockchain-based Image Rights Management platform, KODAKOne has announced that it has partnered with Lobster.

KODAKOne platform helps photographers and artists to license, distribute, monitor and protect their work. Ryde Holding, Inc. (formerly Wenn Digital, Inc.) is the company behind the KODAKOne platform.

Lobster is a platform that helps photographers and social media users to easily upload and monetize their photos and videos. The platform licenses photos and videos from Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, Vimeo, YouTube, Dropbox, Google Photos, Verizon Cloud, VKontakte (VK) and Foursquare. A sophisticated tagging, filtering, ranking, and curation is applied on Lobster database with the help of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies. More than ten million images and videos are available directly on the Lobster platform and billions are available upon request.

CEO at Ryde, Jan Denecke, said, “For us, the launch of our partnership with Lobster is a perfect use case for our mission: Giving photographers, artists and the average smartphone user full control of how their images are being used across the web. Before we launch our platform later this year, we are happy to see that our post-licensing and global monitoring service is able to help so many people around the world already,”

CEO at Lobster, Olga Egorsheva said, “We are super excited to join forces with the team behind KODAKOne in identifying Instagram, Facebook and other social media content uses that have occurred without permission, providing this info to our users and empowering them to offer post-licensing to the (often unintentional) copyright infringers in a positive way,”.

For two weeks, KODAKOne team monitored the use of 10,000 images from Lobster’s library across the web. The team found a number of hits on average for each image.

The KODAKOne team combines three key services that are part of the overall KODAKOne platform:

  • The image recognition algorithm that is capable of analyzing billions of images in the fraction of a second,
  • A network of web crawlers that monitors the web, and
  • A post-licensing service that helps people to get compensated for their images that have already been used without their consent, or that helps them to take those images down.

As a next, step the KODAKOne will register all of Lobster’s images on their blockchain. Lobster will offer monitoring and post-licensing to all their users upon request once all images are registerd on KODAKOne blockchain platform.
