MariaDB raises $25 Million for SkySQL Enterprise-grade Cloud Database


MariaDB secured $25 Million to expands and accelerate the development of its cloud database, SkySQL.

The SmartFin Capital led the latest funding round. Other participating investors include GP Bullhound and other existing investors. To date, MariaDB has raised $125 Million in eleven funding rounds.

MariaDB's Latest Funding for SkySQL

SkySQL is database-as-a-service (DBaaS) built with MariaDB. 

The latest funding is a part of an extension to the MariaDB's existing series C round, notes the announcement. It will allow MariaDB to scale its SkySQL operations quickly as well as meet its demand for cloud databases.

The announcement also listed the DBS Bank, ServiceNow, Walgreens, Samsung along with other 75% of the Fortune 500 are its customers.
