Executive Opinion

President & CEO, HCL Technologies, C Vijayakumar, said, "HCL and Google have a deep and long-standing relationship, and this new business unit is a strategic step forward in our partnership. I am confident that the Google Cloud Business Unit will accelerate execution of digital transformation of global organizations as well as incubate new IP and solutions that will redefine the market."

CEO at Google Cloud, Thomas Kurian, said, "The cloud is at the heart of innovation and digital transformation for enterprises, and unlocks new opportunities for them to tackle their most important challenges. The join focus of the partnership will be on migrating SAP workloads to GCP, Google Cloud Anthos. Anthos strives to achieve consistency between on-premises, cloud environments and also helps to modernize existing applications. The other focus area would be DevSecOps (DevOps + Security Operations) and Service orchestration.

HCL also plans to set up Google Cloud-specific Cloud Native Labs. According to the announcement, these labs will be in the United States (Dallas), the UK (London), and India (NCR).

Previously, in February, HCL partnered with IBM to accelerate the adoption of the Hybrid Cloud Strategy for its enterprise customers. In October, HCL Technologies was selected as the supplier for the digital transformation and IT services for the Volvo Cars.
