New Relic acquires an AI enabled IT Operations Provider, SignifAI

New Relic has acquired SignifAI, an AIOps company that can predict and address performance issues. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sunnyvale and Tel Aviv based SignifAI was founded in 2016. The company uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to empower its platform to address issues faced by technical operations’ teams. SignifAI's technology aims to solve operations problems faster, effectively, and accurately. DN Capital and Swisscom ventures are the investors in the company.

Founded in 2008, New Relic is a provider of a real-time digital intelligence company. It delivers full-stack visibility and analytics to enterprises around the world. In 2014, the company closed its successful IPO with valuation at USD $1.4 Billion.

Executive Opinion

CEO and founder at New Relic, Lew Cirne, said, “To deliver reliable software at scale, DevOps teams need to leverage machine learning to help them predict and detect issues early and reduce alert fatigue. What’s really exciting about SignifAI’s open platform is that it sits above a customer’s existing set of monitoring tools. With more than 60 integrations ranging from open source and commercial monitoring tools to popular services found in many DevOps toolchains, SignifAI automates correlation and enriches incident context so that software teams can get answers quickly during incidents and ultimately reduce mean time to resolution. This technology aligns with our current platform offering and we believe it provides us a unique advantage to solve an important problem for our customers.”

CTO and co-founder of SignifAI, Guy Fighel, said, “We started SignifAI to help DevOps teams see and make sense of their operational data, from alerts to change events, regardless of source. The team at New Relic shares our vision for bringing machine intelligence capabilities to businesses building and operating modern software and we are thrilled to join forces to accelerate and execute on our joint vision for customers.”

An Acquisition for Open Data Platform

SignifAI's open data platform uses the existing monitoring tools and integrates with more than 60 tools and services. It then ingests the alert data and applies intelligence to let users know where to look to solve the problem. This helps in SRE's or technical operations teams to detect issues early, reduce alert noise, and deliver highly available and reliable software at scale.

The SignifAI's source-agnostic approach aligns well with New Relic’s movement toward a more open data platform, notes the New Relic in their blog post. New Relic plans to bring SignifAI's technology to the market to provide actionable information and insights so that users can make faster, better decisions.

The SignifAI team will continue to work from their offices in Sunnyvale, California and Tel Aviv, Israel.
