Acer Cloud Technology Introduces Being Device Management (BDM) Platform

Acer Cloud Technology has joined forces with many smart system suppliers out there in the market such as Axiomtek, IBASE, Shuttle, AOPEN, and NEXCOM. This was done in order to devise a platform which can handle all of the management roles in a wide range of industries such as retail, transportation, and health.

Just a few days ago, the Being Device Management (BDM), a platform for system integrators and service providers was launched. It is developed keeping in mind to look after the addresses of the device required in an ever-growing number of IoT device market, specifically aimed at businesses.

Executive Opinion

Chairman of Acer Cloud Technology, Maverick Shih, said, "Acer develops cloud solutions with service-oriented, cloud-based technology to solve device management problems that arise in this new, highly integrated era. In launching Being Device Management, we are providing a centralized management portal for better operational efficiency and control of devices. As such, we are excited to partner with these vendors to preload Being Device Management onto more devices for complete and fully integrated solutions."

Managing Connected Devices

The announcement noted that connected devices at any scale can be deployed, organized, monitored, updated and further can be troubleshooted with the help of BDM's wide breadth of centralized cloud device management services. The platform can be used by small, local retail shop or an international chain of department stores for hasslefree device management across different operating system environments such as windows, android or Linux

Features such as automatic software provisioning and remote troubleshooting have been included in the bundle to improve upon the operational efficiency.

Touted as a combination of both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), BDM is flexible in nature. Entirely depending on the state of the device, it can be easily used in various sectors such as in point-of-sales systems, airport kiosks, digital signage and much more.

The initial phase, however, will only focus on the digital signage applications to meet the ever-growing demand made by the customers. Acer technology, is, however, directly supplying various partners at industrial events such as the Integrated System in Europe (ISE), taking place this month.
