Infibeam and IBM to Promote Blockchain on LinuxOne Platform with Cloud Datacenter


Infibeam and IBM India collaborate to enable Blockchain applications to its Clients in India on LinuxOne

The partnership will allow developers to develop, implement and promote Blockchain applications on top of IBM's LinuxOne platform.

Infibeam's is coming up with its state of the art Cloud Datacenter at in GIFTCity, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. This data center has recently received Tier III Design Certification from Uptime Institute. The Uptime certification demands sophisticated data center design with fully redundant and dual-powered servers, storage, network links. IT components are powered with multiple, active and independent sources of power and cooling resources

LinuxONE is IBM mainframe series that runs on Linux. It is designed to bring faster, high I/O throughput with separate I/O processors, pervasive encryption, lightning compute speed, and massive scalability, to meet the demands of the cloud computing environment. LinuxONE comes in two models viz. IBM Emperor II and recently launched IBM Rockhopper II.

In an announcement submitted to Bombay Stock Exchange, India, Infibeam noted that the data center is capable of hosting mission-critical applications that demand high-resiliency and high-speed processing with an uptime of 99.982% (no more than 95 min of downtime per year).

The partnership with IBM will help Infibeam to bring the necessary tools to build blockchain applications to their clients.

Founded by Vishal Mehta, Infibeam was IPO(ed) in 2016 with the aim to set up of the cloud data center. It is headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujrat, India and competes with the e-commerce players like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Naaptol etc.
