Beginners guide to blockchain platforms

The Blockchain is one the hottest technologies from this century. Different platforms have emerged over the years and become popular implementations of BlockChain based on their purpose of birth.

We already covered basics of blockchain in our previous post viz. 10 Things You Should Know About Blockchain

Every blockchain contains a complete story of everything which has happened to it, which makes it harder for fraud to occur in financial transactions. ßIt's commonly believed in blockchain circles which the technology can someday make up a brand new outermost layer of the world wide web, replacing traditional payment and contracts systems utilized in businesses such as law and property, since the plan of the technologies makes it difficult to perpetrate fraud.

Today, we are going to look at brief feature overview of the eight popular Blockchain platforms, that can help to build rapid prototypes.
  1. Ethereum
  2. Hyperledger (Sawtooth Lake)
  3. OpenChain
  4. Multichain
  5. HydraChain
  6. Open Chain
  7. IBM Bluemix Blockchain
  8. Chain
  9. IOTA

Ethereum

Ethereum is an open decentralized blockchain platform that runs smart contracts, applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud or third-party interference.

Hyperleger

The Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry Blockchain technologies. It is a global collaboration including industry leaders in fields of finance, banking, Internet of Things, supply chains, manufacturing, and technology.

OpenChain

Openchain is an open source distributed ledger technology. It is suited for organizations wishing to issue and manage digital assets in a robust, secure and scalable way.

Multichain

Multichain is a platform for the creation and deployment of private Blockchains with managed permission either within or between organizations. It aims to overcome a key obstacle to the deployment of blockchain technology in the institutional financial sector.  By providing privacy and control within a private peer-to-peer network it is an enhanced version of the Bitcoin core software for private financial transactions.

HydraChain

HydraChain is an extension of the Ethereum platform which supports the creation of scalable blockchain-based applications that comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Chain

Chain Core is enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure that enables organizations to build better financial services from the ground up.

IOTA

The main innovation behind IOTA is the Tangle, new blockless distributed ledger which is scalable, lightweight and for the first time ever makes it possible to transfer value without any fees.

IBM Bluemix Blockchain

Extension to HyperLedger project and offers additional security and infrastructure facilities for enterprises.

Azure BlockChain as a Service

Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) provides a rapid, low-cost, low-risk, and fail-fast platform for organizations to collaborate together by experimenting with new business processes—backed by a cloud platform with the largest compliance portfolio in the industry.

And there are few more other,
  1. Ripple
  2. Blockstream
  3. Augur
  4. Lisk
  5. Everledger
  6. Circle
  7. Bloq
  8. Coinbase
  9. DragonChain
